Decision on engineering courses fee hike in a week time

Fee hike painful to Government too..

Andhra Pradesh government announced that final decision on hike in the fees for engineering courses within a week. The managements of private colleges pressuring government to hike the fee for this academic year. But government has kept its decision on hold fearing resist from students and parents. Any hike in fee will burden the government as 80% of the students admitted through fee reimbursement scheme. Government already owes a staggering Rs 1,800 crore to colleges under the scheme that came into force from the 2008-09 academic year. The government will take a final decision on the fee hike within a week based on the findings of the three-member committee and the proposals submitted by colleges.
