Novatium Solutions, a Chennai-based provider of computing services on Saturday launched Nova netPC, a computing gadget to be used with a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) broadband connection. The Nova netPC is home delivered at Rs.2,999, including the central processing unit (CPU) that does not look larger in size than a thin client, a keyboard, mouse and modem. It can be made used with a liquid crystal display screen too. The idea was to make it user-friendly and increase computing penetration in the rural areas. The Nova netPC, was maintenance-free, virum and spam proof, less expensive and used 40 per cent less power. Booking is through BSNL customer care centres and Nova Navigator delivered, installed and subscribers familiarised by Novatium technical support personnel. Monthly subscription including BSNL Broadband charges start at Rs. 274. However, if the subscriber already had an unlimited BSNL broadband package, it would only mean Rs. 175, he said.
