Why Akshay wanted to party with SRK?
When Akshay Kumar decided to throw his first party in Bollywood to celebrate the opening collections of his Kambakkht Ishq, he made it a point to invite Shah Rukh Khan even though the superstar was far away in San Francisco."Yes, I did call Shah Rukh Khan to invite him. When Kareena and I suddenly decided to have a party, we decided we'd invite the entire industry. This wasn't a party to celebrate our success alone. It was also a party to celebrate the success of New York as much as my own film. So, apart from me and Kareena, the party's unofficial hosts were Katrina (Kaif), John (Abraham) and the entire New York team," said Akshay.
Akshay has often accused members of the film industry of trying to sabotage his films but he still wanted everyone to come together for the success of two films following a slump.
"I want them to celebrate any success and not be happy when films fail. When New York was released, SMS messages against the film were sent out. The same thing is happening with my film. Why be negative? Specially when I've always been happy for all my colleagues' successes?" Akshay asked.
"So yes, I personally called up Shah Rukh and all my colleagues for the party. But he's shooting in San Francisco...There will be plenty more occasions, I'm sure," the actor said.
The party hosted at the Marriott Hotel Monday night was Akshay's first ever.
"I completely shy away from parties. But this time I think we all needed to express solidarity and happiness over the end of the prolonged slump," he said.
The impromptu party was Kareena's idea. "We quickly drew up a list. She invited her friends. I invited mine. Then we began making the calls. Then there was Tina (wife Twinkle) who called her friends. That just about covered the whole industry," Akshay added.
And how was the party?
"No drinking for me. But a lot of dancing. It was a lot of fun," the star said

Post the extended dry spell at the box office owing to the stand-off between Bollywood producers and multiplex owners over revenue sharing, production houses have announced, beginning June 12, the release dates of some of the most awaited films slated hit the screens in the coming months.
The row between producers and multiplex owners over revenue sharing began in February. As a result, producers and distributors decided not to push any new releases in multiplexes after April 4.
Now that the strike is over, Hindi movie buffs will have quite a few reasons to cheer since there will be an array of big budget Bollywood films on offer - from Vishal Bharadwaj's Kaminey and Yash Raj Films' New York to Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambhakkht Ishq and Saif Ali Khan's Love Aaj Kal.
The first film to hit multiplexes June 12 post the strike will be Vashu Bhagnani's Kal Kissne Dekha that will see his son, Jackky Bhagnani, and model Vaishali Desai making their debut.
The next in line is director Kabir Khan's New York, a romantic thriller based on international terrorism. It is a contemporary story of three friends - John Abraham, Katrina Kaif and Neil Nitin Mukesh - and how their lives are turned upside down in New York. The film, produced by Aditya Chopra will release June 26.
Not far behind is Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakkht Ishq, a $20 million film co-produced by Sunil A. Lulla slated for July 10 release. The much-awaited caper will see Akshay Kumar playing a stuntman in Hollywood with Kareena Kapoor as his lady love. The highlight of the film is the presence of Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards.
After an action-packed film like Kambakkht Ishq, audiences will get to see Saif Ali Khan's debut as a producer with Love Aaj Kal, which is being helmed by Jab We Met director Imtiaz Ali. Saif has teamed up with Deepika Padukone in his home production which is set to release July 31. The film was originally slated to release in the first week of June.
Finally, a larger than life modern day adaptation of the evergreen Arabian Night's tale Aladin starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh will hit the screens August 14. Aladin is produced by Eros International and Boundscript and directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
Other films that were due to release in May and June but were pushed back due to the strike are Luck starring southern superstar Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti Haasan opposite Imraan Khan; Subhash Ghai's Paying Guest; Bipasha Basu-starrer Pankh; director Satish Kaushik's Tere Sang and Phirr, among others. After their much-publicised breakup last year, Bollywood actors Priyanka Chopra and Hurman Baweja met at a party recently but didn't display any hard feelings, said a source who saw the two dancing together.
The party was thrown by filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker last week to celebrate the completion of a 100-day shooting schedule of his romantic comedy What's Your Rashee?, in which Priyanka and Hurman are playing the lead roles.
"Hurman and Priyanka were together on the dance floor. Both of them greeted each other cordially. There was no awkwardness between them. In fact the duo, though at a distance, were enjoying dancing on the floor," a source said.
Both actors, who made news with their breakup last year, danced along with Gowariker and his producer wife Sunita, and the foursome had a "good time together".
According to the source, Hurman and Priyanka walked in late for the party, but at different hours.
"Hurman came in late and immediately hit the dance floor, joining the other cast and crew members of the film. Priyanka came in with her mother just before midnight.
But by the time Priyanka began dancing, Hurman was busy mingling with other guests. And later the crew members dragged him to the dance floor," the source added.
Though Priyanka, who is playing 12 different roles in What's Your Rashee?, left the party at 3.30 a.m., her Love Story 2050 co-star preferred to stay longer.
Incidentally, the party was held on the same day when Gowariker's magnum opus Jodhaa Akbar completed 100 days of celebrations.
Barring a song which is to be shot with Priyanka soon, the film, to be released on Sep 25, has been shot completely.
"The party was a celebration of our magnificent journey. There's a song that will be shot later in June because we require the terrain to be sparkingly green. Otherwise, we are done with What's Your Rashee?" said Sunita.

He was the best father: MJ's daughter
As the world came together to bid adieu to 'King of Pop' in a sombre ceremony, it was the pop star's 11-year-old daughter who surprised everyone with an unscripted tribute to "Daddy", which she delivered through tears.Michael Jackson's children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and Prince Michael II (Blanket), 7, took the stage during a group performance of Heal the World.
After the song, Paris came forward to give an impromptu speech from the stage surrounded by the Jackson family.
"I just want to say ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you can ever imagine," Paris said between sobs. "And I just want to say I love him so much," she added before collapsing into her aunt Janet Jackson's arms.
The poignant tribute was especially startling because it marked one of the first times Jackson's daughter has ever been heard publicly.
The pop star carefully protected his three children from the public despite being one of the most photographed celebrities of his time and his three children never ventured out in public without wearing fanciful masks.
But Tuesday, they were without disguise as they took front row seats along with Jackson's other family members at the star-studded memorial service at Staples Centre.
Atacks on Indian students:11 held in Australia
Australia on Wednesday said those arrested for involvement in the attacks on Indian students in the country may face prison term between two to 25 years if convicted.
Australian Minister for Immigration and Citizenship Chris Evans said Victorian police have arrested 11 people so far for the attacks on Indian students and their trial will commence within couple of days.
"I understand their trial will be commencing... and adults convicted of the assaults can be sentenced to between two and 25 ears in these circumstances," Evans told reporters. The minister is here to reassure New Delhi about the Australian government's commitment to provide full security to Indian students who have been facing attacks in that country.
On the issue of safety of Indian students in Australia, Evans said his government is absolutely committed to "supporting students to have a positive and fulfilling educational, social and cultural experience in the country." "Australian government recognises student's safety and the possibility of racially targeted attacks as issues of serious concern," he said.
Evans' trip follows a visit by a delegation of police and other officials to India earlier this month from Australia.
American Airlines apologises for frisking Kalam
Continental Airlines has apologised to former President Dr Abdul Kalam for any misunderstanding and inconvenience caused because of the security screening at Indira Gandhi International Airport on April 21.The airlines issued a statement saying that it has tendered a formal apology to Dr.Kalam and sincerely hoped he would fly with them again.
It said sometimes the regulations of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and the US authorities are not compatible and these differences should be resolved so that such situations do not re-occur.
The airlines had breached protocol when it frisked the former president three months ago. The protocol exempts the president and former presidents from airport security checks.

Harry Potter enchants fans with $58.2mn - opening day
A long school break has been kind to Harry Potter. After a two-year gap since the last film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opened with a whopping $58.2 million domestically in its first day, distributor Warner Bros said on Thursday.
Half-Blood Prince also conjured up $45.8 million in 33 other countries where it opened on Wednesday, among them Great Britain, France, Germany,Australia and Japan. That gave the film a worldwide total of $104 million.
Domestically, the movie had the best single-day haul yet for the franchise and the fourth-best daily gross ever, behind last year's The Dark Knight at $67.2 million, this summer's
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at $62 million and 2007's Spider-Man 3 at $59.8 million.
Half-Blood Prince receipts include a record $22.2 million from midnight screenings alone, surpassing the previous high of $18.5 million for The Dark Knight.
The sixth installment in the Harry Potter series had the second-highest debut ever for a movie opening on Wednesday. It trailed only the Transformers sequel opening last month.
The new movie generally has gotten the best reviews yet among the big-screen adventures of teen wizard Harry (Daniel Radcliffe).
Half-Blood Prince has Harry struggling to pry a critical memory loose from a new Hogwarts teacher who possesses key information in the coming showdown between the young hero and the evil Lord Voldemort.
The two-year lag since the fifth movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, was the longest in the franchise's history. "Order of the Phoenix" started with a $44.8 million opening day on a mid-July Wednesday in 2007 and went on to gross $139.7 million by the end of its first weekend.
The big launch for Half-Blood Prince could put it on track to pass that mark over its first five days. The film also has a solid launch to challenge the franchise's all-time best earner, which remains 2001's original movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, with $975 million worldwide.
"It certainly gives us something to look forward to, but we have to take it one week at a time," said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. head of distribution.
Warner has had great luck with mid-July debuts, opening The Dark Knight and Order of the Phoenix over the same weekends the last two years. The studio has carved out that weekend again next summer with Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan's follow-up, the sci-fi thriller Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

The first thing you notice about this gigantic movie Harry Potter's sixth part, The Half Blood Prince, is how, as compared to the other Harry Potters, it's so much darker. But of course it's not quite dark in the intelligent Dark Knight sort of way.

British-Indian actor Dev Patel, who starred in Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire, could in all probability star in the Hindi remake of Tamil movie Nadodigal.
Addressing reporters Nadodigal director Samuthirakkani said that talks with Dev are underway.
"We are hopeful of signing him up for the lead role in the yet-to-be named Hindi remake of Nadodigal. The Telugu remake will go on the floors next month with Ravi Teja in the lead role and we will start shooting the Kannada remake in December with Puneet in the lead," said Samuthirakkani who will direct all the three versions.
Released last month, the film starring director-actor Sasikumar, Abhinaya, Ananya, Vijay Vasanth, Bharani and Ganja Karuppu is running packed houses at 168 centres in Tamil Nadu.
"The total cost of the film was Rs.7.40 crore. According to the distributors, the film is expected to gross more than Rs.30 crore once it completes 100 days," said Samuthirakkani.
Nadodigal, an ode to friendship, revolves around Karuna (Sasikumar), Chandran (Vijay Vasanth) and Pandian (Bharani) - the three youths in a small town who share good camaraderie and their friendship spills over to their respective families too.
The film does carry an appealing message for today's fast paced society.
There are three actresses in the film and one of them is Abhinaya, who is deaf and dumb. But Samuthirakkani says he didn't face any problem while instructing her.
"I had no problem to communicate with her. Her mother assisted us and she has done an excellent role despite her handicap," said the director.
The film also stars Ananya and Malaysia-based Shanthini.

She is one of the reigning stars in Bollywood, but Priyanka Chopra says she was a very bad actress when she debuted with Andaaz six years ago. While the former Miss World has set high goals for herself and is experimenting with roles like never before, she is also clear about what she is looking for in her Mr Right. Excerpts from the interview:
IANS: Having had two hits in 2008 - fashion and Dostana - along with several awards... how do you look back at your past year?
Priyanka Chopra: I feel like I'm 20 years into my career because I've done so much work in such a short time. When I look back, it's been only five-six years since I've been here. I've never received any formal training in acting or cinema nor do I belong to a film family; so for me, the biggest achievement is that my hard work and my family's support have led me to the place I'm in today. I take great pride in that.
IANS: How would you review your performance in Bollywood ever since you made your debut with Andaaz in 2003?
Priyanka Chopra: I think I was a terrible actress when I started off as compared to what I'm today. I still have a lot to learn, but I believe that I've grown as an actress and I evolve constantly. I always had the hunger to learn and become better at what I do - just like a sponge, trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
IANS: Your forthcoming movies are Kaminey and What's Your Rashee? and Pyaar Impossible. Which one are you more excited about and why?
Priyanka Chopra: I have different feelings for different films. I'm very excited about Kaminey because it's pathbreaking cinema. On the other hand, I'm equally nervous and excited about What's Your Rashee? because it was a huge challenge for me. I play 12 different characters in it, something that hasn't really been done in Indian cinema before and the fact that I'll be a part of history in the making is very scary. Pyaar Impossible is a sweet, cool story where I have a glamorous look and contemporary character. As cliched as it sounds... each one is special...
IANS: In Kaminey you play a de-glamourised role opposite Shahid Kapoor . Were you sceptical about the look because you were seen in ultra-glam roles in Fashion and Dostana?
Priyanka Chopra: Let's put this into context. I chose the role not because she was de-glamourised. I chose it because of the way the character is etched out and not how she looks. That's incidental. With most of my films, especially the most recent ones... I have taken up roles that are interesting and different from what I've done before.
IANS: You have always been silent about controversies related to your personal and professional life - why?
Priyanka Chopra: Because I firmly believe that all aspects of my life are for public consumption. I learnt early in my career that speculation, rumours and gossip come with the job... a professional hazard. But I'd much rather approach it with dignified silence than to engage in ugly mud-slinging.
IANS: What about your multiple link-ups and break-ups news - don't they disturb you?
Priyanka Chopra: They definitely do because eventually I'm a girl and have a family - a father, a mother, a brother. It does bother me, but I don't believe in clarifying the rumours. It just gives it undue importance. As long as my family knows what the truth is, that's all that matters. The rest doesn't!
IANS: Any plans of settling down in the near future? What sort of a guy would you want as a companion?
Priyanka Chopra: No plans of settling down at the moment. But when I do... Mr Right has to match a lot of my parameters... He has to be someone who knows how to make me feel special... make me feel like I'm walking on air... He has to be somebody who loves me for who I am and takes pride in being with me. He also has to be honest and be able to speak well... make me laugh... all in all, somebody who really really loves me.

Priyanka Chopra: They definitely do because eventually I'm a girl and have a family - a father, a mother, a brother. It does bother me, but I don't believe in clarifying the rumours. It just gives it undue importance. As long as my family knows what the truth is, that's all that matters. The rest doesn't!
IANS: Any plans of settling down in the near future? What sort of a guy would you want as a companion?
Priyanka Chopra: No plans of settling down at the moment. But when I do... Mr Right has to match a lot of my parameters... He has to be someone who knows how to make me feel special... make me feel like I'm walking on air... He has to be somebody who loves me for who I am and takes pride in being with me. He also has to be honest and be able to speak well... make me laugh... all in all, somebody who really really loves me.
Century's longest Solar eclipse on July 22
Sky gazers await for the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century on July 22 as it will provide a rare opportunity to witness the grand event for the people in west, central, east and north-east India.
A total eclipse occurs when the Sun is completely obscured by the Moon. The intensely bright disk of the Sun is replaced by the dark silhouette of the Moon, SPACE president C B Devgun said.
During the total eclipse, totality is visible only from a narrow track on the surface of the Earth.
The countries to witness the path of the Moon's umbral shadow are India and Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China.
In India, the shadow sweeps over the cities of Surat, Indore, Bhopal, Varanasi and Patna. Traveling across Bhutan, the eclipse will be visible in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Burma (Myanmar), before reaching China at 06:35 IST, he said.
China's largest city Shanghai will experience the total solar eclipse for five minutes, he said, adding across the East China Sea, the eclipse will sweep over Japan's Ryukyu Islands and Iwo Jima.
After leaving mainland Asia, the path crosses Japan's Ryukyu Islands and curves southeast through the Pacific Ocean where the maximum duration of totality will be 6 min 38 sec.
A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes most of eastern Asia, Indonesia, and the Pacific Ocean, Devgun said.
Greatest eclipse occurs in the South Pacific at 08:05:19 IST. At this instant, the axis of the Moon's shadow passes closest to Earth's center.
The magnitude of total solar eclipse will be approximately 1.080.
This solar eclipse is the longest total solar eclipse that will occur in the 21st century and will not be surpassed in duration until June 13, 2132.
The next total solar eclipse will be on July 11, 2010 which will be seen in South pacific, Chile and Argentina.
Full Solar Eclipse - Once in a Century
If you are in India and you miss 22nd July's solar eclipse you will have to wait a hundred and five years to see the next one.
"The next time this sort of a total solar eclipse passing the main land of India will happen in 2114 AD, that is 105 years later and most of the people around now will not be there to see it," said D P Duari, Director, Birla Planetarium.
One of the biggest concerns about viewing the eclipse is that monsoon clouds may get in the way. So, stargazers have studied cloud patterns of the last 10 years and fixed Patna as the safest location.
Last 10 years' cloud statistics, scientists have drawn a graph and they have found only near and around Patna the probability of cloud cover is 60 to 62 per cent. That 60 to 62 per cent is making people go in droves, in thousands, scientists and general people are converging on Patna," Duari further said.
A word of warning from scientists - don't look at the eclipse with the naked eye. Use proper solar filters or a welder's glass number 14. You can look at the sun directly only when the moon has completely covered it.

Jackson Family Makes First Move On Michael’s Money
The Jackson family is ready to object to Michael’s will.
Katherine Jackson has filed a motion (see attached) with the court that’s considered a first step—a test, if you will—to see if there’s a way to change Michael’s will.
The document asks the court if it’s possible to undo a “no contest” clause in the will’s unpublished trust amendments. In essence, Mrs. Jackson is trying to get a foot in the door or a seat at the table along with the executors Michael chose—John Branca and John McClain.
What the court could not know, as I’ve been told by family insiders, is that this is the work of Joseph Jackson and business partner Leonard Rowe. Sources say they are using Mrs. Jackson as a stalking horse to gain some say in how Michael’s money is spent.
The document doesn’t look too sound, though. For one thing, it opens with a prevarication: that Mrs. Jackson filed to be in charge of Michael’s estate on June 29th because they thought there was no will, and that he had died in “testate.”
But this column reported three days earlier that Michael’s longtime attorney, John Branca, had a will and would present it to the court. Branca was away on vacation and didn’t get back until the 29th. Sources say he showed the Jacksons the will that afternoon, then filed it with the court.
The Jacksons simply ignored the will’s existence when they filed that morning. Mrs. Jackson’s attorney is now calling Michael’s will “the purported will.” But the July 7, 2002 will signed by Michael Jackson is indeed his will. And no willing it away will change that.

The AP High Court on Monday justified the Centre’s decision to close the Begumpet airport. A division bench while dismissing three writ petitions said the decision to close down the Begumpet airport fell within the realm of a policy decision. The court did not agree with the contentions of the petitioners that there was no specific provisions in the Aircraft Act, 1934 and the Airports Authority of India Act, 1994, for the closure of existing airport. Mr S. Srinivas Reddy, a journalist, from Saroornagar, Mr Sreemannarayana Swamy from the city and the Airport Authority Employees’ Union had filed petitions against the closure of the airport. The court said it will not review the decision as it was done in public interest. The bench in its 36-page judgement stated that the government had the power to enter into agreements to develop greenfield airports and take necessary steps in this direction.

Google Maps Adds Real Estate Search.
Google Australia has added real estate search to its Google Maps service. This new feature will provide up-to-date listings of real estate property available in the market culled from inputs from Google’s real estate industry partners. Users from both Australia and New Zealand can now search using the Google search box within Google Maps.For the search results, Google Maps will put a marker for each of the properties available for sale or rent. Clicking on the marker will display detailed information about the property, that includes the website of the property agents and contact details. In addition, users can search for properties nearby specific locations or areas.
Users can further enhance their search based on various criteria, including bedrooms, bathrooms, garaging and prices.
This new feature was launched as Google Australia’s way of responding to users’ increasing use of the internet when searching for properties for sale or rent.

Websites Where You Can Watch the Michael Jackson Memorial Online Today
Today is July 7, and if you’ve been paying any attention to the news in the past week, you’d know that that means today is the day of the big Michael Jackson circus out in LA. At 10:00am Pacific Time, Jackson’s memorial service will begin at the Staples Center. A mere 17,500 fans will be in attendance, and with over 1.6 million fans having applied to win tickets to the service, there is certainly a demand to see the memorial. While many are likely to make the pilgrimage to LA to stand outside the arena, many more will be at home in front of their computers and TVs looking to catch a glimpse of the action. Fortunately, a number of our favorite websites will be streaming live video of the event.
It will be interesting to see how the websites offering the video feed will handle what is expected to be high levels of traffic and demand for the videos. The demand that the singer’s death alone caused on various websites and search engines was incredible, and since video is so a resource intensive, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect some glitches.
If you’re looking to witness the spectacle, and see some of the music industry’s most famous stars pay tribute to Michael Jackson - including Smokey Robinson, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, and Mariah Carey, amongst others - here’s a list of sites you can go to to tune in:

Hulu seems best poised to handle the load as one of the internet’s most popular destinations for videos already. Most of the other sites are also used to large spikes of traffic, so I doubt any will crash completely, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some people get shut out of the video feeds or if things slow to a crawl at times.
What will also be interesting to take a look at today is the Google Hot Trends, which is sure to be dominated by Michael Jackson related searches. I’m predicting that at least half of the 100 or so queries that make the cut will be MJ-related.
Google Launching Chrome OS, Lookout Microsoft Windows
By now you must have read about today’s biggest news - Google Chrome OS. The Official Google Blog just broke the news, Google Chrome is about to give birth to a full blown Operating System
By virtue of its name - Google Chrome OS will be built on the Chrome architecture. It’s just like running Google Chrome on a computer, or to be more specific on netbook minus Windows XP.
Google specifically describes the Chrome OS as:
Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel.
It’s going to be a lightweight and open-source operating system. This would lighten Google’s load in developing it while at the same time making the OS popular even before its launch. Also, this would enable developers to get into the rush of building their applications that will run on the Chrome OS. These are in addition to Google’s web-based products and services which should normally be supported by the said OS.
Google Chrome OS will be available on several netbooks sometime in 2010. But its source code will be made available later this year.
Now the big question is - Why build a new OS for netbooks instead of developing the already available Google Android mobile platform? Google has this for an answer:
Google Chrome OS is a new project, separate from Android. Android was designed from the beginning to work across a variety of devices from phones to set-top boxes to netbooks. Google Chrome OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web, and is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems. While there are areas where Google Chrome OS and Android overlap, we believe choice will drive innovation for the benefit of everyone, including Google.
So netbooks will just be the test bed. The real objective here is for Google Chrome OS to run on both netbooks and desktop systems.
Next big question - Will it be a Windows XP killer? Probably not. Only Microsoft can kill Windows XP, and that would happen as soon a Windows 7 becomes successful. Google Chrome OS is a Windows 7 rival, the same way that Google Chrome is a rival of IE. Now that’s a better way of looking at it.
Gmail & Other Google Apps Finally Out of Beta
Finally, Google has noticed that its Gmail service has been lingering on the beta mode and finally decided to declare them as out of beta - meaning a full blown web application/service. If you got excited about this news, it only goes to show that you are addicted to Google’s web applications.
In addition to Gmail, other applications are getting their much delayed graduation march and this include GTalk, Google Docs and Google Calendar in both their enterprise and consumer versions.
So what does this mean for these Google Apps? It just mean one thing, the “beta” tag will no longer be displayed next to their logos.
This does not mean however that Google will stop enhancing these apps. Google promises to continue enhancing these apps. In fact, they are even introducing some new features to the enterprise version of Google Apps - mail delegation, mail retention and enhancements to the apps reliability.
Before we forget, for those who would have a hard time accepting the fact that Gmail is now out of beta, you can always revert to the Gmail logo with beta under the Settings tab of your Gmail account.

Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer and businessman. Though he was accused of child sexual abuse in 1993, the criminal investigation was closed due to lack of evidence and Jackson was not charged. The singer had experienced health concerns since the early 1990s along with conflicting reports regarding the state of his finances since the late 1990s. Jackson married twice and fathered three children, actions which caused further controversy. In 2005, Jackson was tried and acquitted of different sexual abuse allegations and several other charges. The death of Michael Jackson occurred suddenly on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50.
One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records, including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time." He has won 13 Grammy Awards, charted 13 number one singles in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era—and posted sales of over 750 million records worldwide, making him, according to the World Music Awards, the best selling solo artist of all time.

6,000 new seats are being added to the AIEEE pool this year.The results of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) - 2009 will be released by May 31, according to Y.V. Rao, Director of the National Institute of Technology – Warangal (NIT-W) and Chairman of Central Counselling Board, the body that oversees the admissions, for 2009-10. Though the announced tentative date is some where in June first week, AIEEE planning to release them earlier to facilitate the new online admission process. The new process will make the admission procedure lot more easier for students. Now they can fill their choice of colleges and courses online and do not need to attend the counselling sessions personally like previous years. Students will be given an access number along with the exam results, which will allow them to access the application forms between June 24 and 28 on AIEEE website. Online application submission will be locked on June 29 and all 24,000 seats will be allocated by evening.

The Secondary Education department is preparing to announce the results by the third week of June. As many as 52,675 posts were being filled by the DSC.30,571 were of Secondary Grade Teachers while few thousands of posts of School Assistants in different subjects and language pandits would be filled through the DSC. Six lakh candidates were appearing for the examination in different categories. Exams for DSC-2008, the largest ever recruitment drive in the state to fill up 52,675 teachers’ posts, will begin on Friday in 2,693 centres. A total of 5,99,649 candidates have applied forthe exams which will be conducted till May 31. Candidates should reach the exam centres by 9.30am. They will not be allowed into the centres if they are late by even a minute. The ‘initial key’ will be released on June 4th and the ‘final key’ on June 12. The results will be out in the third week of June.
