He was the best father: MJ's daughter

As the world came together to bid adieu to 'King of Pop' in a sombre ceremony, it was the pop star's 11-year-old daughter who surprised everyone with an unscripted tribute to "Daddy", which she delivered through tears.

Michael Jackson's children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and Prince Michael II (Blanket), 7, took the stage during a group performance of Heal the World.

After the song, Paris came forward to give an impromptu speech from the stage surrounded by the Jackson family.

"I just want to say ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you can ever imagine," Paris said between sobs. "And I just want to say I love him so much," she added before collapsing into her aunt Janet Jackson's arms.

The poignant tribute was especially startling because it marked one of the first times Jackson's daughter has ever been heard publicly.

The pop star carefully protected his three children from the public despite being one of the most photographed celebrities of his time and his three children never ventured out in public without wearing fanciful masks.

But Tuesday, they were without disguise as they took front row seats along with Jackson's other family members at the star-studded memorial service at Staples Centre.
